Some lawyers will mislead the court knowing that their word will be accepted as “officers of the court”.

They will specifically use this technique in verbal exchanges when they think there will not be a written record of the misleading information. 

They will claim that their client has made full disclosure when, in fact, their client has deliberately left out pertinent information.
