Alternatives to Appeal
What course of action can be taken instead of appealing an order?
Temporary orders require a motion for leave to appeal. Instead of appealing, you may wish to:
- push the matter towards a final resolution, which is usually a trial. Trial judges have unrestrained discretion to make a very different order after completing a full investigation of the facts.
- ask the court that made the decision to change it on a motion under 25(19) of the FLA it if a mistake was made or it did not make a decision on a matter that was before the court
