Effective Date: January 1st, 2025
Last Updated: January 1st, 2025
Welcome to Self Justice. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, tools, resources, and services (the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Who We Are
Self Justice is a platform designed to help individuals understand and manage their own family law matters in Ontario by providing legal information, educational content, and practical tools.
2. Not Legal Advice
Self Justice provides legal information, not legal advice. Nothing on this platform creates a lawyer-client relationship. The information we provide is intended to help you understand legal concepts, but it may not apply to your specific situation. You should consult a licensed lawyer for legal advice tailored to your case.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Platform. By using Self Justice, you confirm that you are legally permitted to use this site and services.
4. Accounts and Access
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share your account with others or use someone else’s account. If you suspect unauthorized use of your account, you should notify us immediately.
5. Use of Tools and Content
All tools, including calculators, dashboards, legal topics, form fillers, and other content on Self Justice, are the intellectual property of Self Justice Inc. You are granted a limited license to use these tools for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, reproduce, resell, distribute, or republish any part of the Platform without prior written permission.
6. Paid Features and Subscriptions
Some features of Self Justice are available only to users with an active paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to the pricing, and billing frequency at the time of sign-up. Subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by law. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
7. Community Guidelines (Discussion Board and Reviews)
When using the discussion board or submitting reviews, you agree to post content that is respectful, lawful, and relevant. Hate speech, harassment, defamation, spam, or offensive material is not allowed. We reserve the right to moderate, remove, or restrict content that violates these standards.
If you post inappropriate content, you will receive one warning. If you continue to post inappropriate or harmful content after being warned, you will be permanently banned from using the Discussion Board and Reviews feature. You are solely responsible for the content you submit, and we are not responsible for the opinions or advice expressed by other users.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or misused the Platform. This includes misuse of tools, inappropriate conduct in community areas, or attempts to gain unauthorized access.
10. Limitation of Liability
Self Justice is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Platform. This includes any decisions you make based on the legal information provided, any inaccuracies in calculations or documents, or the outcome of your legal proceedings.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users by email or through the Platform. Continued use of Self Justice after changes have been posted means you accept the updated Terms. It is your responsibility to review the Terms regularly.
